The kiwifruit is a fruit of a perennial vine. It is brown in color and covered with fuzz. Kiwifruit are oval-shaped, about the size of a large hen’s egg. The bright green flesh of the kiwifruit speckled with tiny black seeds adds a dramatic tropical flair to any fruit salad. They are packed with more vitamin C than an equivalent amount of orange. The kiwifruit is mostly used for making jelly, jam and chutney.
